This site contains many resources for researching military history or family genealogy. Over a period of time, I hope to include the unit histories of my ancestors from past campaigns, as well as general information about the various wars and campaigns in which they served. As I gather information, I will update the Researcher’s Blog to provide background information, as well as a list of newly acquired information.

My primary consideration is to focus on the Civil War history of my ancestors. As time permits, I want to include citations and extracts from the Official Records, as well as reports of battles that they participated in. I have also been researching the circumstances and history of our WWII ancestors and want to start posting that information as I get it transcribed.

Excerpts from the Official Records:

  • Order of Battle for various campaigns, these are extracted from the Official Records and provide tha assignements of all units.
  • Battle Reports for various battles that my ancestors participated in.  May include battle reports from other units that mention the units of my ancestors.
  • Role of Honor, the equilevent of the CSA Medal of Honor.
  • Other related correspondence

Battle Narratives:

  • Narratives of vatious battles that my ancestors participated in.  Include mention of the ancestor and unit assignments.  Narratives are compilations from various other reference articles.

Stories from participates of the Wars or about the impacts of the War on the culture, economy, and environment of the time.
