This is one of the largest state parks in the system. The campsites are well alid out and offer some privacy.  Many are alrge enough for a camper and a tent.  Lots to do and heavily visited during the summer.  Make reservations early. Additionally, it is close to Newport, OR, one of the large seaside towns.

One rustic yurt, site A-30, is pet friendly during a one-year pilot project. To reserve for stays starting May 1, 2009, call 1-800-452-5687. An extra fee of $10 per night will be charged. A limit of two pets will be in effect. “Pets” are defined as dogs or cats.

South Beach Web Site

This is the only park within the system that has sites right on the beach.  We drove through to take a look and figure out which was best.  They are all good, offering privacy, but there is a row of growth on the dunes between the beach and campsite, so the view may be obstructed.

It’s a small campground and you have to use the dump station at South Beach (17 miles north). It stays full a lot of weekends during the summer, so reserve early.

Beachside Web Site

Devil’s Lake is right in Lincoln City, next to a large lake, with all the fresh water activities accompanying it.  We visited in April, it had been raining for a couple of days, so many of the lower campsites were flooded.  Most of A loop had standing water and a good portion of B loop.  Didn’t check out C loop.  The best sites for when its wet are the B-26 – B-30, they are on a hill and stay dry. We like Lincoln City and go used to go there a lot in the 5er, but its been a few years.  Not much has changed.  Good resturants and of course the Outlet Mall, also lots of used book stores.
